New Gerald McGavin Rugby Pavilion Opens

UBC opened a new Pavilion to support its men’s and women’s rugby programs in the fall of 2012. The new facility features change rooms, offices, storage space, bleacher seating for 300 spectators and a clubhouse lounge for use by students, alumni, staff, and sports groups. The Pavilion is named in honour of UBC Commerce alumnus (’60) Gerald McGavin, a member of the BC Rugby Hall of Fame who generously donated $800,000 towards the project as part of UBC’s Start an Evolution Campaign.
